I have been receiving emails from the
foodies festival promoting their dates throughout the UK. I went to one, about 2 years ago when I was pregnant and found it quite a family orientated event and thought it would be a nice day out with ur children!!
As our Dee Dee has started walking now, I thought it would be a really nice family day out to go to the Syon Park Foodies Festival on the bank holiday. We were lucky with the weather as it was sunny and not raining! This time round, we found there were more free nibbles/snacks being offered and alcohol drinks! We had quite a few peach flavoured and elderflower ciders!! I think the food is still fairly pricey from the food stalls ranging from £5 to £15! We ended up snacking throughout the day savoury and sweet stuff! However, i was surprised that there wasn’t many cake stalls, I counted and there were probably only less than 4, considering that they did have a cake and baking stage! There were quite a few stalls selling fudge as this seems quite popular now.
There was plenty of space to sit on the grass for a picnic and listen to the band, they had someone doing face painting and they even had a mini bouncy castle. I found the event very child friendly with baby changing facilities. I am sure the others foodies festivals would have the similar set up.
Our entry tickets cost £10 eachbas we had a discount code from the Time Out magazine, it still might work – FOODIES15 if you are interested in going to shows listed on their website! We had a great time on bank hol and managed to buy lots of treats! From venusawalian buns with beef, brownies, pancakes, ice cream, oats bar, tortillas, chorizo and olives, coffee, quiches and bubble drinks, we were pretty stuffed!!! Our Dee slept through most of the time we were there but atleast this gave us a chance to walk around and sampled the foods!
